OPTICAL
DATA TRANSMITTERS (ODT)
The Optical Data Transmitters are a family of battery-operated transmitter units
for use with the EG&G ODL-6 or ODS-6 Optical Data Link/Systems. The analog
fiber optic specifications are identical for each of these transmitters. The
differences between them are in the number of input data channels, the signal
conditioning, and in the type of batteries utilized.
The ODT-1 is a small, lightweight transmitter specifically
made for use in very small spaces. It uses throwaway lithium batteries instead
of the usual APS-23 battery pack. The ODT-6 is the standard transmitter and
has eight inputs. The ODT-8 is identical to the ODT-6 except that it has only
one input with provision for integration of the data signal.
