ODL-7B
WIDEBAND OPTICAL DATA LINK
The EG&G Model ODL-7B fiber optic telemetry link
provides a cost effective means of transferring wideband analog signal information
from an electrically nosy test environment to a quiet instrumentation area when
control requirements are minimal. The ODL-7 analog signal transfer characteristics
are essentially identical to the more sophisticated ODL-6 optical data link
model: flat (±1 dB) gain response from 1 kHz to 150 MHz (-3 dB points), approximately
2.5 – ns risetime and 42 dB dynamic range (peak-to-peak signal to RMS noise
at 10 MHz).
The data link consists of a transmitter
with a removable Model APS-23A rechargeable battery pack and a receiver powered
by 115V, 50/60 Hz (220V, 50/60 Hz optional. The receiver package includes a
charger for the APS-23A battery pack. The ODL-7B link is supplied with one
each FOC-2200B 200-meter length, graded index, 100-micron-core, cable assembly.
