CAP-
3 Coaxial Current and Monitor Probe

The EG&G
CAP-3 High-Power Coaxial Current and Voltage Monitor Probe is
used to achieve accurate simultaneous measurements of both the
current and voltage waveforms within a coaxial cable with a
minimum perturbation of the signal to be measured. The CAP-3
was specifically developed as an output monitor probe for high
power CW and pulse direct-drive systems, such as those used
in MIL-STD-461C testing. The CAP-3 can handle peak voltages
up to 2 kV and peak currents up to 20A.
The CAP-3
includes a type-N plug input connector and a type-N receptacle
output connector which allows direct in-line connection on the
output of the drive source. Two SMA receptacle connectors are
provided for the voltage and current monitor outputs. The current
monitor has a 1 ohm (1 V / 1 A) transfer impedance and a bandwidth
from 10 kHz to 200 MHz. The voltage monitor has a X 1,000 attenuation
(60 dB) and a bandwidth from 100 Hz to 200 MHz.
